Yesterday was my first day back at college..the beginning of my fifth year. I am taking Art History I and II, Drawing I and Commercial Photography. I was walking up the stairs to the student center to get an application for a job, tripped in my heels (wedges) and broke one of them-haha. So, great fun, walking all around campus with no shoes on and then I guess I was excited about my evening class and ended up locking my keys in my vehicle! What a super way to start school-Lol!

Push the Limits

Today marks the fourth year of my website (404th post/image)-a great deal has happened in that time! I began going to college and have been a full-time student ever since (1 more year to go!), I bought my first DSLR camera, got a MacBook laptop computer, worked at my first few jobs, made some fantastic best friends, had my heart broken for two months before going out with my awesome now boyfriend I love (dating for over 15 months), met amazing people through photography (including instructors, cotton gin owners and farmers, the homeless, gravediggers, etc.), opened my eyes and learned valuable bits of information (especially with various types of film and cameras, studio setups, and lighting), pushed me to take more risks (like wading in murky ponds with camera equipment, driving alone to eerie places at 3am, buying $30 worth of jelly beans..simply to photograph a specific idea), became occupied with interesting endeavors/opportunities (documented artwork for oodles of people), traveled to several new and exhilarating places, been to my first couple of rock/music concerts, involved in my first ever car wreck (which was very bad, but fortunately I wasn't injured too badly and was given my mom's nice van later), entered several professional photo/art contests, rock-climbed!!, and so on!!!! I am curious what four more years of my life will generate!

Photographed: Saturday, April 24th, 2010 around 1:30-2am during a rainstorm (my camera was on a tripod under my umbrella). The building which is on the left and out of sight was built in 1995. It was pitch dark except for a light from the building, vehicles passing on the hwy and the lightning in the sky during the long exposure.
